Caden had his first shot at pinewood derby races in scouts this year. I was sure we would end up near the end since Caden had to have the little man on top. Caden picked what he wanted the car to look like and the little man. He picked the blue color and the name came from a little help from his sister! When we were working on it, she said that it just looked like a door stop. The little guy's name was 'The Mad Racer' so we just mixed those names together and came up with 'The Mad Door Stopper'! There were 38 cars total in the race and Caden and his group is the youngest. After everybody raced once, Caden was in second over all the after the second race, he was tied for second. He just seemed to get a little slower as time went on or changing lanes made a difference. After all four races he ended up tied for fourth overall which was a complete surprise! The whole event was pretty neat and everyone had fun. Click on the picture above to see more pictures from the races. All the boys got to push the button to start the race and that's what Caden is doing in one of the pictures. I think now the top racers from the different age groups get to race in district races at the SciPort in a couple of weeks.
